Making a blog about software

in this blog I am going to be talking about and looking at the various types of software about these days and the businesses & industries

using & involved in creating the latest versions.

For a start pretty much every type of business in the world these days can benefit from some sort of software, whether you are a one man

entity or a huge multi-national company there is always something that can be made easier for you be it accounting online, staff management,

appointments & meetings, listing and managing properties or items for sale and the list goes on.

One of the main factors in identifying that you need software is when you or your business start to slow down or struggle to keep on top of

day to day tasks either due to expansion or growth, or sometimes a smart business owner will look to streamline certain things before they get

to that stage.

Identifying the type of software you need can be difficult though – there are so many software providers out there thast it can be somtimes

hard to find the right one for you.

here are some things to consider when choosing the best software for your business:

Price – is it Free or a one off fee or monthly payment?
Functionality – Does it work how you want it to & is it east to get to grips with?
Extra Features – it may do what you need right now, but does it have any other features that may help as your business grows.
Popularity & Do others use it? if it is complicated software it may be well documented online
Customer support – It is essential to have good customer support as you businees needs increase
Reviews – What do others say about the software & level of service

These are just a handful of things to consider but there are lots more besides.

In the coming blogs i’ll pick some examples of software & will look at providers too.

Software for the web generation

Several years ago most businesses were happy just to have a website that gave them some online presence – in fact many companies started out with the most basic of HTML websites, usually just one or two pages & maybe a contact form so clients could get in touch, but in recent times many businesses have found their business more reliant on their online entity as highstreet footfall has declined & online visitors has grown – this has spurred many businesses on to invest more of their marketing budget in their site in order to widen ther audience & also to help do more for their business.

a vast majority of businesses now rely so heavily on their websites that they have not only invested in mobile responsive site to please mobile users (and Google) but they have also started adding backend software to their sites to manage every day office tasks – Take for example estate agents, most agents rely on 3rd party software such as Rightmove or Zoopla to promote their properties as well as estate agent management software such as Portal Hub to actually feed their properties into these portals as well as managing clients, viewings etc, but now they are also investing in their own software for a wide variety of things including mailouts, staff management, viewing alerts and many other property related functions.

In times to come more & more businesses will be investing in software & the what was once a flourishing web design market will slow down as many of those businesses with responsive sites will simply need updates as opposed to new website design – this new demand for software will make way for developers having the ability to code the software side of things as well as websites and those with just the most basic of skills will find their market shrinking while the skilled developers will be in high demand.

Websites & web designers were essential the birth of the internet but software & software developers will be in equally high demand as time goes on.
